The selfie is compared with the photo on the identity document (e.g., ID card, passport) during the verification process.

What documents are required to issue a qualified certificate?

To use a qualified electronic selfie signature, you need:​

  • A valid identity document, such as an ID card or passport, which will be compared with your facial image during the verification process.​

  • A smartphone.​

  • An email address.

What does the process of issuing a qualified selfie certificate look like?

a) The document recipient, during the signing process, selects the option indicating they do not have a qualified signature and would like to obtain one.​

b) They then fill in their details along with an email address, to which they receive a code.​

c) After entering the code, they receive a link via SMS inviting them to verify their identity on the provided phone number. Upon clicking, the verification process begins.​

During identity verification, the user will be asked to upload a photo of their identity document (ID card or passport). Next, they must take a selfie, which is compared with the photo from the identity document, along with performing several actions confirming liveliness. The system analyzes the collected data, resulting in a positive or negative verification outcome. After a positive result, the recipient can sign the document.​

Can I use a previously taken selfie?

No, the verification selfie must be taken in real-time to ensure that the person signing is actually present and matches the individual on the identity documents. This is part of the fraud prevention mechanism.​
