Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) is one of the largest financial institutions supporting sales of Volkswagen Group brands. The company offers vehicle financing for individual and business customers, working with an extensive dealer network throughout Poland.

In response to growing customer expectations regarding online services and the need to streamline dealers’ operations, VWFS launched a digital transformation of the leasing and rental purchase process, including remote application and contract signing.

The Challenge

Customers increasingly expect to be able to complete the various stages of the purchase, lease, and rental process online—from receiving an offer, through submitting an application, to signing the contract. At the same time, Volkswagen Financial Services wanted to ensure convenience for its dealer network, which is a key participant in the entire sales process.

The solution sought had to meet the high standards of the financial sector, comply with local legal and technological requirements, and provide flexibility regarding the available methods of electronic signature. The partner’s experience with implementations in the financial sector and knowledge of the Polish market were also crucial.

Solution

Volkswagen Financial Services selected Autenti as its partner to implement remote electronic signatures in the leasing process. As part of the project, customers were provided with various methods of qualified electronic signatures, including integration with mObywatel, as well as the mSzafir and InfoCert solutions.

The implementation enabled the entire lease agreement process to be completed remotely. Customers can sign documents without having to visit a dealership, and dealers can monitor the status of the process in real time within the sales system.

Close collaboration between the two teams also played a major role. Feedback provided by dealers and users was quickly analyzed and translated into further improvements to the solution.

Results

The implementation has brought tangible benefits to both customers and the dealer network:

• every other lease agreement is now signed remotely,
• 55% of dealerships use remote signing,
• customers rated the convenience of the process at 4.9/5,
• the need to compare scans with paper documents has been eliminated,
• dealers receive a single, complete document containing all electronic signatures.
